Learn without taking the shore home with you.

Try these prompts on your next coastal visit, then use reliable sources to check what you found.

Shore explorer challenge

Find 3 textures

Without touching wildlife, photograph or sketch three different natural textures: sand, rock, leaves, shells still in place, or water patterns.

Spot 2 signs of life

Look for tracks, burrows, movement, feeding marks or animals. Record where you saw them.

Notice 1 human impact

Can you see litter, coastal structures, boats or other signs of human activity? What questions does it raise?

Before you touch anything

If you do not know what it is, do not touch it. Observation is already a form of exploration.
